Courtyard
The Shaba is centered on an open aired courtyard, resplendent with pillars and a cooling fountain. An area that connects the hotel as a whole, away from the more conventional hallway or corridor, it is also a place of tranquility and reflection.
The courtyard is the ideal place to catch up on a book, or share a glass of champagne as evening falls.
Dining & Sitting Room
The teak wood dining table seats, but is not limited to, 10, and is lit up by two custom-made glass chandeliers hanging overhead. Oversized mirrors reflect the colours of the twinkling lights, to create a warm, hospitable atmosphere.
The dining room leads onto the sitting area, which is perfect for pre or post dinner drinks, encouraging conviviality and intimacy. The views are directly onto the swimming pool, and out onto the verdant, tropical surroundings.
Library
The library at The Shaba provides for those who wish to stay in touch with the world. A complimentary Wi-Fi internet connection along with a Mackintosh Apple desktop, as well as a fax machine will allow guests to connect if need be.
The well stocked library provides ample reading, and the wall mounted plasma TV is the most comfortable way to watch the latest blockbuster from a long list of choices.
Swimming Pool
The decked swimming pool area runs the length of the kitchen, dining and sitting room area, with floor to ceiling glass doors that fold to open up, allowing breezes to flow through The Shaba; a respite from the heat of the day. The ceramic handmade tiles of the swimming pool are flecked with dancing sunlight that streams through the surrounding trees, allowing a deep curtain of hush and privacy. The swimming pool is filled with salt water, and favours the artistic horizon style overflow on one side that melts into the surrounding landscape.
On the wooden decking area in front of the kitchen is an informal dining table, perfect for light tropical breakfasts to greet the Balinese day, intimate familial lunches, or romantic culinary escapades under the powerful equatorial moon.
Relax on oversized sun beds, made for two, and allow the butler to mix a cocktail or two and slip into the relaxed mood of The Shaba.
Outdoor Shower & Bathroom
After bathing in the salt water swimming pool, take a refreshing shower under a canopy of trees and birdsong at the wooden decked out door shower.
Through the adjoining antique door, discover an oasis of tranquility in the form of a water closet in a backdrop of mangrove trees. Truly nature at her best.
Privacy
To ensure your privacy, we provide tassels to hang outside your suite or deluxe room door, or, if you have booked The Shaba in her entirety, then it is simply enough to let our staff know that you wish to enjoy some privacy.
